Recycling!!

After making the Snugli for my son I got thinking about recycling and here is Mr Owl, made from an old cardigan, he's really soft and stands about 20 cms (7 inches in old money!) tall!

My son had a favourite fleece jumper, (cheap as chips from Quality seconds I believe!) as soon as it was in the cupboard it was worn again, when it was finally too small for him he asked me to make him something from it as it couldn't bear to be parted from it and this is what I came up with - he's delighted!

Cards

Another of my passions is card making, I've been making cards for the past 5 or 6 years and photograph many of them for reference, I love to look back at the ones I made at the beginning, my techniques have improved somewhat!!

These are some of my recent creations, ones that I'm quite proud of although they're never perfect!!

This is a little place for me to show you a few of the things that I love to do in my freetime - I just can't sit in front of the TV in the evenings!! There will no doubt be some stuff about my family and the animals from time to time too!


Last summer I fancied making a Monkey from a sock, and after chatting with a fellow mum & dog walker she lent be a great book and that lead to not just Monkey's but Zebra's & Dogs too! Then I started to use the skills I'd learnt and made my own designs, and then came Monster's, Dinosaur's, Pig's, Cow's and a Reindeer!


I won't bore you with lot's of pictures, but will show you Rudolph, I made him at the request of a friend to pop in her daughter's stocking - she's 9 but has completely fallen in love with him! I know have a few orders for some for christmas 2011 :)
